Labor Day has come and gone and here at the shelter that can only mean one thing — it’s time to start preparing for Haunted Overload!! As many of you know, Haunted Overload generously donates 10% of their profits to us each year to help us in our mission to care for the homeless and neglected animals of Strafford County and Southern Maine. In return, we provide them with all of the volunteer support that they need to make Haunted Overload the incredible spectacle that it is!
We are staffing both the day haunts and night haunts.
Day haunts require 2 people each day to sell tickets and/or take the tickets of those who have bought online and 1 person to do a COVID/temperature screening of patrons before they enter the Haunt.
Night haunts will require 8 people to help direct parking, 3 people to monitor the queue line (reminding people to have their tickets out and ready, to turn the brightness up on their phones for mobile ticketing, to conduct COVID/temperature screening of patrons before they enter the Haunt, to keep an eye out for disorderly guests, and to make sure guests adhere to social distancing of 6 feet while waiting in line).
To help persuade you, Haunted Overload is offering the following incentives to volunteers:
1 shift = 2 tickets to the haunt
3 shifts = 4 tickets to the haunt
6 shifts = Haunted Overload t-shirt
10 shifts = Haunted Overload sweatshirt
