Humane Education Programs
Mission & Programs
Pope Memorial Humane Society is proud to offer Humane Education programs at no cost to our community. We offer a variety of programs for people of all ages to educate them on the care, safety, and overall well-being of animals.
Our mission is to provide quality, compassionate care and shelter to our animals, in partnership with educating the community concerning humane animal treatment and welfare.
Presentations are available for in-school sessions for pre-k through middle school students, as well as other youth programs such as scout, church, and 4-H groups. Home-schooled students are also welcome. Visits to PMHS can also be arranged and can include program presentations. Adult and high school classes and organizations can also call to arrange presentations tailored to the needs of their group. Topics include general pet care, personal safety around animals, domestic vs. wild animals, and the importance of spaying and neutering.
Please schedule at least 2 weeks prior to the date of your visit.
Community groups, both students and adults, are welcome to schedule a tour of the shelter. A short classroom lesson, as well as time for questions and discussion, will also be provided.
