The Patricia C. Adams Fund
Pat Adams was a talented, dedicated and beloved Dover pediatrician and a devoted owner of numerous animals during her lifetime. Her cats provided constant companionship around the house, she would take her dogs for long walks through the fields and woods, and Pat was an accomplished horsewoman. In sum, she gave her cherished animals the best of loving care and in return, they provided her with countless hours of enjoyment.
To honor his wife and her love of animals, her husband, Bob “Charlie” Adams, created the Patricia C. Adams, MD Endowment Fund for Animal Care at Pope Memorial Humane Society-Cocheco Valley in her memory. The endowment helps PMHS-CV provide care for the various animals who come through our doors each year who need medical attention, who have behavioral challenges, or who just need some additional care to help them find the right homes for them.
Endowments are established in perpetuity for a specific purpose, stated by the donor. Endowments blend donors’ visions with the needs and objectives of the shelter. Endowed funds provide support that is reliable, because it is perpetual; earnings from an endowed fund are used to carry out the donor’s purpose while the principal is safeguarded.
