From Fosters Daily Democrat:
DOVER — Cocheco Valley Humane Society is getting ready for the June 21 groundbreaking on its new facility, which will be located on County Farm Road not far from the old building.
The event is a long time coming. Currently, CVHS is located in a 100-year-old former piggery, the very same building where the non-profit first opened its doors almost 30 years ago. According to CVHS staff, the building is beyond repair. “We are literally in the old pig barn,” said Karen Zaramba, former board member and member of the building committee at CVHS. “We have to manually bring in water to take care of the animals,” she added.
